We make plans everyday for our future. Plans for the weekend. Plans for vacation. Plans for work, for home and everything that takes up every day.
What we don’t plan for is the end of our life. How would that go? Where would that be? Who would be there? Let’s face it…..we’re a “Death Averse”society so not unusual that these things don’t get talked about. Don’t get planned for. Best to stay away from as much as possible. But the best way to have a good end of life is to plan for it. And even better to talk about things before there’s a crisis and no one can think clearly.
I can help. I’ve been helping people with Serious Illness conversations and End of Life planning for years. As a Respiratory Therapist and a Registered Nurse I’ve been a part of these conversations with patients and families. The work might be explaining the expected progression of a chronic disease and preparing patients and families with simple easily understood language.
I also assist with Vigil planning, Legacy work and exploration of Grief and Bereavement. Contact me at marytchamberlain@aol.com to talk about your end of life planning.
